With the newer ideas of "From Point A to Point B" being fromulated, I started thinking of the old games I tried to make in RPG Maker. I started with RPG 2003 back in middle school, and made a mediocre final game called Kacekociku mid high school. Sadly, I don't have that game anymore. I made a rushed ending game in "The Few That Stand" which I made to get a game design club in my high school. Really, my friends and I went through so many games, barely finishing any. Isn't tracing for minimalist against the DA rules?
I actually looked that up a while back, technically, no. While editing an established drawing by someone else is against the rules, tracing or using a drawing as a reference for your own is not.

To me, it doesn't make sense. In my experience teaching art classes and talking to art professors, an edit of previous art or a collage is still considered art, in some cases high art. 

From what I can gather, DeviantArt just doesn't want to have problems with lawsuits, which I can't blame them for, but it negates a whole section of art.
